Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB)

From its inception in 1998, the La Spada lab has embraced a key set of core guiding principles and beliefs.  Foremost among them is our commitment to creating a work environment where all are welcome, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or religious belief.

We place great value on building a genuinely inclusive culture where all our lab members can thrive and achieve their personal and career goals.  We emphasize collegiality, mutual respect, and collaboration.

Diversity has always been a defining feature of the La Spada lab.  We feel that diversity nurtures creativity and we understand that discrimination and anti-DEIB values can undermine the perpetuation of a supportive, caring community of scholars.  We continue to work toward the realization of the goals of diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging so that all feel welcome here.
